Washington, D.C., United States Date of incident: 11/08/2007 |
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a national war memorial in Washington, D.C., was designed by Maya Lin and completed in 1982. On September 8, 2007, an oily substance was sprayed onto the lower half of a 60 ft. section of the memorial. Although it is unclear whether this destruction to the memorial was accidental or not, some believe that it is an act of purposeful vandalism perpetrated by anti-war radicals*. |
