Tippecanoe Battlefield Monument

On November 7, 1908, in Battleground, Indiana, an 85 foot marble obelisk was completed and dedicated in honor of the 37 U.S. soldiers killed in the Battle of Tippecanoe (November 7, 1811). On the 196th anniversary of the Battle of Tippecanoe in 2007, the monument was spray-painted with the slogans: “America repent”, "Justice will be served", "Coward", "Give us back our spiritual capital", and "Tecumseh's not dead".
